About Jeppe Quondam Athletics
Welcome to Jeppe Quondam Athletics, the proud athletics division of the Jeppe Quondam Sports Club in Bedfordview. Here, passion, endurance, and community spirit come together to create a home for runners of all levels — from beginners finding their stride to seasoned athletes chasing personal bests.
Our athletics journey began in 1976, when the late Theo Jackson, a former Jeppe High School pupil, started morning runs from his home in Edenvale with a few friends. What began as casual runs grew into a full-fledged athletics club that now boasts over 500 members and is regarded as one of the finest athletics clubs in South Africa. Theo ran for Jeppe for 19 years before his untimely passing in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, camaraderie, and passion that continues to inspire our members today.
At Jeppe Quondam Athletics, running is more than just a sport — it’s a way of life. Members train together, compete together, and celebrate achievements as a team. Whether you’re preparing for your first 5km, tackling a marathon, or taking on the legendary Comrades Marathon, you’ll find guidance, motivation, and lifelong friendships within our club.
We offer structured training sessions, club runs, and social events that make every step enjoyable. Our coaching and community-focused approach create a supportive environment for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, Jeppe Quondam Athletics continues to uphold over a century of Jeppe Quondam’s sporting tradition, building not only athletes but champions of character, camaraderie, and perseverance.
